The titles of my art usually reflect places I have visited and photographed. Elements of the photographs are digitally manipulated and transferred on to paper. They create the basis of these unique prints. The original site is no longer recognizable but is still a reference.
Destroying, cutting up, and reconfiguring your own work can be scary, a challenge, and fun. When producing unique prints, there are many tries to get that perfect print. For every “good” result there are several that are put aside as “seconds”. Using these “seconds” as the basis for collages, I cut up, reposition, and reconstitute old work into new images. Rethinking, re-imagining, and reconstructing keeps the process of making art fresh and exciting.
